CIS has on-campus and off-campus access to the New York Times. This includes The New York Times, The International New York Times, and 紐約時報中文網. The entire Times archive is also available in a search function stretching back to 1851. See below for even more options!

To establish your account, follow these steps *if you have trouble with the links, please try to access these links using Safari*:

  1. The first time you register, you must use your laptop computer and be on the CIS campus
  2. Open NYT GroupPass
  3. Click on the blue "Create Account" box
  4. Answer all of the questions, and be sure to use your school email account*
  5. Click "Create Account"

After you do this, you will have full access to all NYT materials and you can link your mobile devices as well.

 

Staff NYTimes Academic Pass registration expires 4 years after you activate it. To re-activate it, follow these instructions:

1. Visit the NYTimes Academic Pass page
2. Click on "Already have an account? Log in here »"
3. Login with your school email address and password
4. NYTimes will send a confirmation email. Visit your school email inbox and click the link in the confirmation email and login again.

Each topic page collects all the news, reference and archival information, photos, graphics, audio and video files published on topics ranging from A M Castle & Company to Zyuganov, Gennadi A. This treasure trove is available without charge on articles going back to 1981.
