Use NoodleTools to cite an AI tool you used during research.
Use the Y7 Full AI Citation Checklist to make sure you have included all the necessary information.
Watch the video below to learn how to cite AI in NoodleTools.
Select "New Citation" and select "More" and then "Write/paste citation".
At this time MyBib does not have a custom new citation form for AI citations so you need to write the citation yourself in the blank box.
1. Do not add an author field. AI is not considered an author of the information. AI presents information taken from other sources. The full citation should start with the first prompt you used. See example.
2. If you had a conversation with multiple prompts/questions, then after the first prompt, write follow-up and write a short summary of the goal of the conversation.
You should be using a AI tool that can generate a stable URL for your chat that can be shared with others. It's important to provide a URL link to your chat so that the evaluator or reader of your essay can look at your original interaction with the AI tool if they need.
*DO NOT copy the URL in your browser window - this is an unstable URL and if you using a chatbot that requires a personal login to your account, the URL cannot be accessed by anyone else.*
3. Write the name of the chatbot or AI tool you used. If you know the publisher or parent company of the AI tool (ex OpenAI owns ChatGPT) write that information in the Publisher field.
